Support
Real help, when you need it
A companion here can be a comfort, but it isn't therapy and it isn't a substitute for people. If grief feels heavy, these are good places to turn.
In crisis right now
Call or text 988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US). Free, confidential, 24/7. If you're outside the US, your local emergency number can connect you to help.
Grief counseling
A therapist who specializes in bereavement can make an enormous difference. Directories like Psychology Today let you filter for grief and loss specialists near you, in person or online.
Peer support
Organizations like GriefShare, The Compassionate Friends (for the loss of a child), and local hospice bereavement programs offer free groups with people who understand.
A gentle reminder
Grief has no schedule
However you're using this space — to say goodbye, to revisit good days, or just to hear a familiar voice — go at your own pace. And when you're ready, let the people still here hold some of it with you.
