What it can't do
- It can't tell you anything they didn't tell you. It works from your memories, not from anywhere else.
- It can't sound exactly like them. Close, often startlingly so — but the pauses, the laugh, the way they said your name are yours to remember.
- It can't replace grieving, or the people still around you. It's a place to remember, not a way to avoid it.

What kind of recording do I need?
Anything with them speaking for 30 seconds or more, without much background noise: a voicemail, a video, a voice note. If you only have a voicemail, save it off your phone first — we wrote a guide.
Is it safe to upload their voice?
The recording is used only to build the voice for your companion. It isn't used to train anything, isn't shared, and is permanently deleted when you delete the companion.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. Building a companion and the first 25 messages are free, with a few spoken replies so you can hear the voice. Voice plans start at $49 a month with a free trial, and a full refund within 14 days of your first payment.
What if it's too much?
Stop. Close the tab, or delete the companion — everything goes with it. Many people find they need to try it once and then leave it for a while. There's no wrong pace.
